The OCZ Synapse Cache SSD 64GB uses an internal software called “Dataplex”. . The Dataplex™ caching software will integrate the Synapse into your existing system and will you allow you to increase the performance of your HDD to an SSD level.

This is done by creating an environment where the most frequently used "hot" data stays on the ultra-fast SSD, while the "cold" data remains on the larger capacity HDD that is already part of your system. Advanced caching algorithms learn user behavior and adapt storage policies to ensure optimal performance for each individual user, maximizing productivity for the most demanded programs and applications.

Thus, the Synapse is a caching product and therefore an upgrade for any computer that uses a HDD.

First you have to go to the OZC website and select the Synapse product, then go to downloads and register the products serial number that is located on the back of the drive or on the box. Next, download the Dataplex software and do as follows.

Finally the DataPlex has been installed after pressing the Install button on the next page. The SSD is now ready for use!
