Introduction

Today we look at another Graphics cards from HIS, the HIS 7950 IceQ 3GB. As this card is just under the new 7970 we expect good things of this card, and hopefully it will perform just under the 7970’s posts. It is a 3GB card and we have seen impressive results from other cards of this big memory, although the HIS 7950 IceQ 3GB only has an 800MHz core clock speed, which is quite low for a card of this stature. We are hoping that this large amount of memory in the 7950 3GB will carry the card through to victory and smash those frame rates into some excellent results. With the low core clock speed at stock, curiosity arises when thinking about the overclocking potential. Perhaps when it comes to the overclock the focus is mostly used on a memory increase over the engine cock speed.

One aspect of card testing we are looking forward to it the temperature testing, as this card is one of HIS’s famous IceQ cooling cards bundled with their iTurbo overclocking and monitoring software, we exspect excellent temperature results as every IceQ model so far has been great at keeping those temps stable, even at overclock, and even with the smaller cards such as the 7750, relative to their mid-range card status.
