Xbox 720 Six Times More Powerful Than 360 with Implemented Anti-used Game System
Unnamed sources are claiming that the new Microsoft next-gen console the Xbox 720 will feature a Blu-ray optical drive, and will be featuring a system that will be put in place with the new console to stop the use of second hand games. Apparently may have planned to implement a system that only allows one copy of the game to be registered to Xbox Live and only the original buyer can play the multiplayer with that disk. This stopping the passing on of games to friends and family on different consoles. Clearly Microsoft looking to rip us off once again.
It is apparent to us now that the new Xbox 720 will feature a "Oban" SoC, and a PowerPC-based 32-nm processor core(s), an ATI "Southern Islands" GPU core. We also now have reports that the GPU will be in the 6000 series, something similar to the Radeon HD 6670, and we know what that means... DirectX 11 support, multi-display output, 3D and 1080p HD output. This is going t be a machine of a console.
Sources are reporting that Nintendo's soon to arrive Wii U console will have twice the processing power and graphical potential of the current Xbox 360.
This source is a developer who is currently working on a Wii U title.
"I've heard [a project designer] complain it's underpowered compared to what Nintendo announced, resulting in people having to de-scale their plans," the source added.
To conclude: the Xbox 720 is reported to be six times more powerful as the current 360 model, and 20% greater in processing power than the Wii U. However the Wii U is going to be twice as powerful as the Xbox 360, so things don’t look to be as much of an improvement for the Wii U as they could be.
