CES 2012: Sharp 8K4K LCD TV with a 7680 x 4320 Resolution

We have been seeing some very interesting tech and gadgets that are propelling us into a new age at this year’s CES 2012, one such advancement comes right out of Sharp’s corner. Sharp have revealed the biggest television advancement in the past 100 years, the television in question is the new Sharp 8K 4K LCD.

The Sharp 8K4K LCD was initially announced at IFA in Berlin in September 2011.But is on show for the first time in America at CES 2012 in Las Vegas. The new tech TV offers a screen resolution indistinguishable from real life, and everyone who looks at it gets hypnotized by its overwhelming clarity.

This new Sharp TV is 85-inches big and has a resolution of 7680 x 4320. Which is 33 million pixels - 16 times more than your Full HD TV (1080p is 1920 x 1080). It has a luminance of 300cd/m squared and has a graduation of 10 bits in every RGB pixel.

If you don't really understand the technicalities, let us make it simple for you. This TV has a picture so crisp that you'll almost feel like you are looking through a window rather than watching something that has been recorded.

This TV is so perfect that it really does seem like you are stood there, on whatever your are viewing. But of course the downside to the current advancement comes with the fact that no channels currently broadcast in this ultra high resolution. But that will be changing very soon as the BBC has confirmed that it will be filming some of the Olympics in “Super Hi Vision” and will be featuring the coverage on three 15-metre high screens around the country, at the Beeb's own Pacific Quay building in Glasgow, the National Media Museum in Bradford and of course Broadcasting House in London.
