Hilarious and shocking news that Rovio, the company world famous for creating phenomenal Angry Birds app, is now going to be producing an Angry Birds movie. The movie will debut in 2016 and will be 3D animated. This news arrives as Angry Birds celebrates its third birthday, three years of the app and now the film, things are moving fast for the feathered fighters.
Rovio themselves are going to be completely financing the film production and are not seeking out any outside help from any established film studios. There is currently no Director set for the film just yet, as it has still only just been confirmed and not much else has gone forth apart from the knowledge that they will be making it. Although the production does already have Despicable Me producer John Cohen on board, and also former chairman of Marvel Studios David Maisel, who will be the executive producer. David was the executive producer for the Iron Man film, so angry birds should be off the hook. But more importantly; who’s going to play the evil pig?
This isn’t the first experience in the film industry the Finnish games company has had, they also had a big helping hand in the recently animated film Rio, which held big marketing links with the Rovio franchise. So we expect great things from this exciting new development and can’t wait to hear about the story’s plotline.
If you didn't get a chance to see Rio, here is a taste for what the new Angry Birds film will look like...
