Android 5.0 Jelly Bean Launching In Months?
Android Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) has barely been out that long and already we hear news on a new upgrade, Android 5.0 also known as (Jelly Bean), I know cool name right?
Digitimes, who currently is paving the way in the rumour market, has stated that the Taiwan-based supply chain makers who are claiming that Google "is likely to" launch Android 5.0 around the second quarter of the year (April to June).
Could this be a threat to Windows 8 bases devices, or is it possibly the other way round and Android are rolling out a demanding update to tackle Microsoft’s Windows 8? This is most likely the reason for the pleasured update.
Android maybe looking to integrate its new Jelly Bean 5.0 OS with Chrome OS, which will expand the devices into the netbook market and the tablet industry. Just like Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 did with the objective introducing the OS into the tablet market.
Ice Cream Sandwich as mentioned hasn’t been out relatively long and still hasn’t become the main Android OS across users as their phone have yet to be offered the support, as it has only introduced itself to a bundle of devices out of a vast range. One such phone is for example the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, of which we are currently reviewing right now.
Google show no signs of giving up on the Chromebook just yet and are looking to advance it capabilities, so the integration of Jelly Bean rumour may have much truth in it.
Therefore, this is a very hard rumour to take seriously and is very unlikely to happen as all their hard work with Android 4.0 would have just been almost for nothing. We expect Jelly Bean (5.0) to launch at a much later date, roughly around the end of the year at least.
